Moist Citrus Feed & PPH (Pyrexia Pruitis Haemorrhagic Syndrome)

Citrus Pulp has in the past been circumstantially linked to PPH (Pyrexia Pruitis Haemorrhagic Syndrome) which can lead to animal fatalities. Although the incidence of this is rare, care should always be taken when storing and feeding Moist Citrus Pulp to any and all classes of livestock. Because of the high acidity levels in Moist Citrus Pulp, feeding levels should not be exceeded.

N.B. Care should be taken to introduce Moist Citrus Feed slowly into all diets over a period of seven to ten days to achieve full intake level.

Nutritional Attributes

The product is a good source of energy and is very palatable which is ideally suited for dairy cattle, beef and sheep.  Moist Citrus Feed is a light coloured, uniform product that has been macerated to allow for improved handling, storage and usage.

Storage and Handling

Moist Citrus Feed should be stored and ensiled in anaerobic conditions.  It should be consolidated to exclude all air, rainwater and other contaminants.  This should be done immediately after delivery and then be tightly sheeted.  The elimination of air by compacting and tightly sheeting the product will allow storage for an extended time period.
