Nutritional hazards / Limits to usage
Rapeseed meal contains sulphur rich substances known as glucosinalates which give rise to the ‘peppery’ smell and taste. High levels of glucosinalates depress palatability. Glucosinalates can also increase the iodine requirement due to an interaction with the thyroid gland
